Position Overview

Primary Purpose of the Position

To provide qualified faculty to engage in the Occupational Therapy graduate program.

The Mission of the Occupational Therapy Program is to produce graduates who are clinically, professionally, and culturally competent in occupational therapy. Graduates will engage in evidence-based scholarship and service to promote equitable care that contributes to the quality of life for individuals and communities.

Winston-Salem State University invites applications for a 12-month full-time tenure track faculty position to join a committed academic team in the Occupational Therapy Master of Science degree program.
Responsibilities of the position are to assist in program and curriculum development, teaching, mentoring/advising and supervising students, and engagement in research and service consistent with the program and institution’s aims.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

Candidates must have an earned Ph.D, Ed.D, or comparable degree from a regionally accredited school (master’s or terminal degree MUST be in the field of Occupational Therapy). Experience in general rehabilitation and background in neurological, physical disability, or mental health will be considered.The successful candidate should have 3-5 years teaching in a college or university, and 3-5 years clinical practice including supervising students.

Required License or Certification

Must be certified occupational therapist and be eligible for licensure in the state of North Carolina
