Position Overview

Primary Purpose of the Position

This listing is to allow all non-work study student temps who have been hired to work at WSSU to complete an employment application. PLEASE NOTE: You must already have a job before completing an application using this listing.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS PROCESS IS NOT FOR WORK STUDY STUDENTS. ALL WORK STUDY STUDENTS MUST GO THROUGH THE OFFICE OF CAREER DEVELOPMENT SERVICES FOR ASSISTANCE WITH YOUR FINANCIAL AID FUNDED WORK STUDY ASSIGNMENT.

WSSU’s Student Temps provide temporary clerical, secretarial, tutorial, research, and technical support to departments for special projects, during periods of absence, jobs that student temps are specifically requested for, or for work overload.

Minimum Qualifications:
Be enrolled and in good academic standing in a full or part-time in a degree-seeking graduate or undergraduate program with Winston-Salem State University.

Additional qualifications for a specific position will vary by position.

Must be able to coordinate work schedule with class schedule. Must communicate with supervisor with at least a 24-hour notice of when you will not be able to work a previously scheduled shift due to academic responsibilities.

Must adhere to the office dress code when reporting to work; bringing clothes to change into, if needed. Must restrict telephone and computer usage to work-related needs or, if supervisor approved, study-related needs. No personal telephone calls, including cell phones, unless an emergency and no friends stopping by to chat or otherwise disrupt the workplace.
